Is there an updated release date or a 64bit version of the present version available? I have not been able to use my current version since i updated to 64bit. when i purchased a new computer. Very dissapointing as I used the editor very often.

The VST-AU Virus Editor is currently in development. It's about 3/4 complete. It will come in 32bit and 64bit plug-in versions. I will be sending out a mass email to all registered users once it is complete and ready for release.

Hi folks. I wanted to put this update out there for those of you patiently (or not) awaiting the release of the VST-AU Virus Editor. Here is an update on the status of the release...

It is taking some extra time for this product release, because I decided to add as much 'Multi' support as possible (ie. being able to select between the 16 parts in the same plug-in). I decided to add this because it would be impossible to use multiple instances of the plug-in to achieve this, due to the MIDI port selection inside the editor. The first instance would take up the MIDI ports the Virus is connected to, and thus these ports would not be able to be selected in any other plug-in instances. And, I think people will appreciate the ability to access all 16 parts, even if it is inside the same editor. The drawback will be that only one part of the Multi will be automatable in the DAW at a time (this is due to the way plug-ins handle parameters). Each part takes over the GUI controls when selected, and so automating a part, and then changing parts in the editor, the automation data will now go to the new selected part and not be tied to the old part is was programmed for. So recording automated parts will require these to be done for one track at a time and then recorded, and then automating the next part, recording it, etc. Also, the current multi support will not be including the Virus 'Page C' multi part parameters (mixer etc.). The current multi support is really just to provide access to all the parts. however, the editor is primarily designed for working with single programs. I may make a separate editor that will handle just Virus Multi's (but still able to load Virus .syx patch data into it).

Ok, so the multi additions and improvements to the shared framework (between all my plug-ins) that will be used in this product have set the release back a little bit. I am trying to get the VST-AU Virus Editor product released next week. But, I have to test the product in 7 different DAW hosts in both 32 bit and 64 bit host versions for both Mac and Windows (that's 7x2x2 = 28 tests) for every single build prepared for release. And if there is something not working in even one of those, then it requires a fix, then repeat the entire test process. So, as you can see, it's a lot of work to get things tested and then packaged up (user manuals, updated website, etc.). Hang in there though, it is pretty much complete and very close to release.

Thank you,

lanrosta
