Note - This manual only covers information related to the specific product and synthesizer model. Please also see the Global User Manual for more information about the main portions of the software that are not specific to the synthesizer model.
This software will work with the Kawai K1, K1r, and K1m model synthesizers. Runs on 64bit MacOS 10.15 - 12 and Windows 10 - 11 systems. Plug-ins work with recent and latest versions of Steinberg Cubase & Nuendo, Ableton Live, Apple Logic Pro, Propellerheads Reason, Cakewalk Bandlab, MOTU Digital Performer, Presonus StudioOne, Bitwig Studio, Cockos Reaper, ImageLine FLStudio, Acoustica Mixcraft, and AcidPro Next, and other DAW's that support independent MIDI port I/O configurations. Required Settings on the Synthesizer

You will need to perform these steps on the hardware synthesizer to be able to properly communicate bi-directionally between the Synthesizer and the Editor.

On the K1
1. Push the 'System' button Once. Set System/MIDI' to 'TRS'.
2. Push the 'System' button again, set the 'MIDI TRS Channel'' value to '1'.
3. Push the 'System' button again, set 'TRS PGM', 'TRS PRS', 'TRS BEND', 'TRS MOD', and 'TRS HOLD' to 'ON'.

Using The Graphical User Interface

The graphical user interface of the VST-AU K1 Editor is designed for maximum ease of use, giving you easy access to all of the parameters right on one screen. You are also able to rename, modify and browse the Patches right inside the Editor itself. All controls are handled via either a slider, knob, combo box, button or text edit box.

Some hosts do not allow plug-ins to use keystrokes on the main plug-in window. You can still use the Patch Manager to rename the Patch in this case.
Use the Mouse Scroll Wheel to increment slider and knob movements in single increments.
Double-click a slider or knob to set it to 'middle' position.
Use the arrow buttons on your keyboard to move up and down on combo boxes.
